Our Process

Like most home builders, we focus on the materials we use to build each home. But we pay just as much attention to the details. When our customers entertain guests in their home, we want it to be obvious to everyone that they’re in a high-quality home. That’s why we take the time to get the paint just right, the cabinets finished to perfection, and the layout of the rooms just perfect.

Everything has to be perfect; even the things the customer might never even see. That’s probably why we’ve won numerous awards including Builder of the Year.

Read on to see what other features we add to a Jerri Builders home.

We start each project by looking for ways we can exceed the client's expectations.
Jerri Jo and Bobby

Interior

  • Freezer Outlet in garage
  • Generator Outlet in garage. This means you can add a generator to power your home during a power outage.
  • E/V plug for electric car
  • Rounded sheetrock corners
  • Custom built mantle over fireplace
  • Custom built barn doors where applicable
  • Black plumbing packages
  • Granite/marble/quartz countertops throughout home
  • Solid wood cabinet doors
  • Solid wood dovetail drawers with soft close slides
  • Custom wood shelving in pantry

We use blocking on the roof sheathing instead of hurricane clips. NC Building Code doesn’t require that… but Jerri Builders does. Why? Because it makes the roof stronger and better able to withstand hurricane winds. Here are a few more special touches that we build in to our homes:

Exterior

  • Gutters on front and rear of house
  • Outdoor shower plumbing
  • Ice and water shield in roof rakes and valleys
  • Solar Shield Board Roof Sheathing – A radiant barrier sheathing product for roofs. It reduces radiant heat transfer through the roof by up to 97% and reduces the attic temperature by up to 30 degrees fahrenheit.
  • Advantech Subfloor – A product that has ultra premium resin throughout the board that gives it superior stability, strength and performance. 50 year no rot.
  • Ice and Water Shield Roof Rakes and Valleys- A self-adhering waterproofing underlayment that is used in roofing to help prevent damage caused by wind driven rain and ice dams.
  • Tyvech House Wrap – A product that helps block air flow from inside the walls and protection insulation rated-R value.
  • Synthetic Underlayment for Roof – A product that provides a layer of laminated polypropylene or polyethylene plastic material that goes over the roof deck that provides an extra layer of protection.

So those are some of the numerous features and extras that go in to a Jerri Builders’ home. We’ve fine-tuned this process and this list over the course of almost 30 years of building homes in North Carolina. We would love to talk with you about your dream, answer your questions, or show you some of the things that make us different.
